Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kanga Roos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Quincy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kanga Roos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kanga Roos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Igor Quincy!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quincy lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Roos at a distance.
A swing and a miss from Quincy.
Roos keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Quincy.
Quincy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.


It looks like Kanga Roos has been cut.

Roos dives in and scores a takedown into Quincy's guard.
Roos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Quincy is keeping the position for now.
Quincy is controlling Roos's posture.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Roos decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Roos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Quincy as he avoids it easily.

Roos rushes Quincy and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Quincy breaks the clinch.

Roos gets a takedown into half guard.
Roos trying to control from half guard but Quincy is working away.
Quincy trying to hold on to Roos's head to control him but Roos postures up.
Roos throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We've been hearing that Roos has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Roos prevents Quincy from standing back up.
Quincy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Roos thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Roos stands up and beckons Quincy to join him on the feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Roos.
Quincy is trying to improve his position.

Roos is trying to get an arm triangle but Quincy is defending well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Quincy is trying to control Roos's posture but Roos avoids it.

Roos is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Quincy has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Quincy tries to bench press Roos off him but Roos keeps the position.

Roos working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Roos throws an elbow but Quincy slips to the side and avoids it well.
Roos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Quincy keeps working.
Quincy is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Roos creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.


It looks like Igor Quincy has been cut.

Roos stands up.

Roos fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Quincy, pushing him back against the cage.

Quincy manages to break the clinch.
Quincy scores with a leg kick.
Quincy throws a nice looking combination but Roos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Roos moves out of range of the strikes.
Roos fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A lazy left from Quincy finds it's target.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kanga Roos will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Back to the action!


Roos avoids the body shot from Quincy.
Kanga Roos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Roos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Quincy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Quincy defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Roos.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kanga Roos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Quincy misses with a few strikes there.
Quincy throws a body punch but Roos moves out of range.
Roos throwing a counter right hand but Quincy manages to avoid it.
Quincy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Quincy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Roos looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Roos is looking to work some ground and pound but Quincy has wrist control.
Roos throwing strikes from guard but Quincy blocks nicely.
Roos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Quincy trying to keep a closed guard but Roos is proving a slippery customer.

Roos trying to control the position from guard on top but Quincy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Quincy is trying to keep Roos in close.
Roos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roos is working hard here to advance position.
Roos wants to control from the top but Quincy keeps moving.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Igor Quincy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A shot to the liver by Quincy. Beautiful body shot.
Quincy throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Roos closes the distance and pushes Quincy back into the cage.

Quincy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Roos is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Quincy with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Roos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Quincy pinned against the cage. Quincy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Roos uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Quincy.
Igor Quincy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Quincy lands with a hook. Roos tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Quincy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Roos manages to avoid it.

Roos throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Quincy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Roos is in Quincy's guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Roos stands up over Quincy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Quincy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Quincy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Roos lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Roos trying to control but Quincy is working from the bottom.
Roos is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Quincy is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Roos chips away with some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Igor Quincy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Quincy. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Roos seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Roos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Quincy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Quincy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Roos. That did some damage!
Roos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Quincy as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kanga Roos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Quincy lands a slapping body shot.
Quincy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Roos tries for a takedown but Quincy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Quincy has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Quincy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Quincy takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.


That has opened up Igor Quincy's cut even more.
Quincy dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Roos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Quincy tries to avoid it but Roos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Quincy to the ground. Quincy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Quincy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Roos doesn't seem bothered though.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A jab from Quincy misses.

Roos tries to clinch up.
Roos looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Quincy is fending him off so far but Roos persists. Nope, Quincy circles away and we're back to standing.
Quincy shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Quincy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Igor Quincy seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Quincy lands with a good body shot.
Roos takes one to the side of the head.
Roos takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Quincy looks to score with a jab to the body but Roos is just out of range.

Roos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Quincy to the mat! Quincy manages to get full guard.

Roos stands up from Quincy's guard - Roos perhaps looking for a knockout.
Roos moves away from the strike by Quincy.
Roos shoots in but no luck this time.
Quincy misses with a few strikes there.
It looked like Roos was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Roos goes for a double leg but Quincy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Quincy continues to drive forward.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A decent looking cross lands there for Quincy.
Quincy throws out a loose jab but Roos uses good head movement to avoid it.
Roos fails in his attempt to clinch.
Quincy leaves Roos with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Roos gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Roos tries to clinch up but Quincy circles away and keeps his distance.
Quincy looks to land a right hand but Roos moved out of range.
Some bone on bone action there as Roos checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Quincy lands with a thumping leg kick.
Quincy throws a shot to the body.
Quincy cracks Roos with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Nice sprawl there from Quincy as Roos shoots in.
Roos ducks right into an uppercut from Quincy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Roos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Quincy as he avoids it easily.
Quincy pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Roos checks a low kick from Quincy.
Quincy throws the kick towards the body but Roos avoids it.
Roos takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Quincy finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Quincy misses with a head kick.
Quincy digs a good hook to Roos's body.
Quincy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Roos fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Quincy avoids it really well and circles away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Igor Quincy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Quincy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
