The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whittaker defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mayer .
Whittaker misses with a looping right.
Mayer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Whittaker tries to avoid it but Mayer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Whittaker to the ground. Whittaker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Whittaker ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A telegraphed right hand from Whittaker misses the target.
Mayer with the counter takedown but Whittaker avoids it easily.
Whittaker looks to land a left hand but Mayer moved out of range nicely.

Mayer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Whittaker pinned against the cage. Whittaker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Mayer takes a little break here. Whittaker wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Whittaker takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Mayer cracks Whittaker with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Mayer immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Whittaker is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Mayer !

During a confident post fight interview, Adlet Mayer thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
Otis Whittaker was interviewed post fight and said 'I felt the tingle, again. Congrats Theo and Ryan!'.
