The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Himeno avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Horrible takedown attempt by Himeno or perhaps it was just good defense by Biggen, which made it look bad.

Himeno takes the fight into the clinch.
Himeno gets underhooks to prevent Biggen's takedown attempt.
Himeno is trying to push Biggen away but Biggen has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Himeno is trying to break free.

Himeno successfully pulls guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Biggen stands and steps away. Himeno gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Biggen.
Himeno misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Biggen tries to pull guard but Himeno forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Biggen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Himeno shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Himeno showed some decent athleticism there.

Himeno uses his free foot to push down on Biggen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Biggen.

Biggen tries to reverse the position but Himeno maintains control.
Himeno controlling the position easily from mount.
Himeno is trying to take his opponent's back.
Biggen wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Biggen is trying to get back to his feet but Himeno has full control of the position and if anything, Biggen has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Himeno working for a choke but Biggen is defending well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Himeno is controlling the position but Biggen somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Himeno has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Biggen works to full guard.

Biggen has Himeno pulled in close to control his posture.
Himeno working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Biggen's head.
Himeno wants to control from the top but Biggen keeps moving.
Himeno really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Biggen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Biggen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Himeno seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Biggen is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

In his post fight interview, Kagemaru Himeno started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
