PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Jonathon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keimah Animai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Animai has chosen Rise - Flobots as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonathon is trying hard to land a takedown here. Animai sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Animai looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Decent striking displayed by Jonathon there.
Animai missing with a left hand there. Jonathon was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Animai jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Animai throws a sloppy body shot
and Jonathon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Animai lands with a straight right. Jonathon didn't see that one coming.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Animai cracks Jonathon with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

It seemed like Animai was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Jonathon takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Animai scores with the left hand. Jonathon knows he should have avoided that one.
Jonathon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jonathon tries to counter with a takedown but Animai is quick to defend against it.
Animai fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jonathon manages to avoid it.
Jonathon attempts a counter takedown but Animai avoids it well and moves away.
Jonathon has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cylon Training Academy in the buildup to the fight.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jonathon.
Keimah Animai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jonathon looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Animai throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jonathon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Animai takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jonathon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Animai now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Animai has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jonathon avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Jonathon is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Animai.
Jonathon ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jonathon ducks under a wild hook from Animai.
Animai throws an overhand right that lands on Jonathon's shoulder, as Jonathon tries to avoid the shot.
Jonathon attempts a counter takedown but Animai avoids it well and moves away.
Animai takes a swing at Jonathon's ribcage but misses.
Animai lands a jab to Jonathon's midsection.

Jonathon scores with a shot to the body.

Jonathon doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Animai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Jonathon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Animai tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jonathon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Animai steps in with a hook that catches Jonathon right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Animai follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Jonathon looks absolutely devastated.

Keimah Animai spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
