The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dion shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dion showed some decent athleticism there.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Dion enables Conley to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Dion manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Conley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dion swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Conley counters with a one-two to the body.
Dion misses with a takedown attempt - Conley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Conley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dion gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Conley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dion can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Conley seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dion for as long as he can get away with.
