PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joesph Bradshaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rock Down (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Down has chosen The battle as his entrance music. The key to victory for Joesph Bradshaw has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joesph Bradshaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rock Down!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bradshaw shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Down as he avoids it easily.
And Down tries to counter it with a takedown but Bradshaw pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Bradshaw shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Down's guard.

Down looking for a guillotine here but Bradshaw defends easily.
Bradshaw is looking to work some ground and pound but Down has wrist control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bradshaw wants to get up but he can't break Down's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bradshaw postures up in Down's guard and throws a big left but Down blocks it.
Down manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bradshaw manages to get himself to full guard.


Bradshaw had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Down defends it easily.

Down looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bradshaw can't do much from the bottom here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Down wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bradshaw, who protects the arm well.

Down thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bradshaw might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That was a close round but I would say that Joesph Bradshaw will probably get the nod.

Bradshaw is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bradshaw controls Down momentarily but Down frees himself.

Down content to control rather than advance.
Down is thwarting Bradshaw's attempts to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Rock Down seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Down throws a head kick but Bradshaw moves out of range.
It looked like Bradshaw wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Down stuffs the takedown.

Bradshaw has his foot on Down's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Down works his way back into a safe position though.

Rock Down showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Down has clasped his hands together around Bradshaw's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Bradshaw is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Down's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Rock Down comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Down has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
