Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wes Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Mygroin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Wes Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pat Mygroin!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards moves to clinch but Mygroin breaks away
and Mygroin counters with a left and a right that stings Edwards.

Edwards tries to sprawl but Mygroin drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Edwards keeps control of the position for the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mygroin is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Mygroin prevents Edwards from getting the reversal.
Mygroin trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Edwards tries to hold on but Mygroin postures up.

Mygroin is working for a guillotine from mount but Edwards frees his head quite easily.

Mygroin has control of Edwards's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Edwards regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Edwards might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mygroin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Edwards wants to get up but he can't break Mygroin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Edwards could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Edwards postures up in Mygroin's guard and throws a big left but Mygroin blocks it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mygroin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mygroin has a closed guard, preventing Edwards from standing up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Edwards. Mygroin does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mygroin shoots for a takedown but Edwards saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mygroin closes the distance and clinches up with Edwards, looking for a takedown. Mygroin pushes Edwards against the cage but Edwards circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Pat Mygroin dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Mygroin moves into range and clinches up with Edwards.
Mygroin keeps control of Edwards as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Edwards defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mygroin.

Edwards shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Edwards showed some decent athleticism there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mygroin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Edwards as he jumps to the side.
Pat Mygroin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Edwards shoots in for a takedown but Mygroin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Mygroin's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Edwards has had enough of the clinch but Mygroin keeps him there for the moment.

Well Mygroin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
