PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ned Bigsbee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Silva Minh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bigsbee kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Gin & Juice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ned Bigsbee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Silva Minh!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Darius Henderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva Minh fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Silva Minh throws a head kick that misses.
Bigsbee attempts a counter takedown but Silva Minh avoids it well and moves away.
Silva Minh on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Bigsbee ducks under a wild hook from Silva Minh.
Silva Minh fails to land with a series of punches.
Silva Minh's coach down at Die Trying Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Silva Minh's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Silva Minh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bigsbee paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silva Minh closes the distance and clinches up with Bigsbee, looking for a takedown. Silva Minh pushes Bigsbee against the cage but Bigsbee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bigsbee throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Silva Minh was covering up waiting for the punch and Bigsbee finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bigsbee is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Silva Minh is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bigsbee defends well.

Bigsbee's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Bigsbee has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Bigsbee drops back looking for a leg! Silva Minh is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva Minh manages to kick Bigsbee off! Bigsbee jumps back into Silva Minh's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bigsbee controls from within his opponent's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bigsbee seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Bigsbee.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Silva Minh bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bigsbee's guard.

Bigsbee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva Minh is one step ahead there.
We've been hearing good reports from Bigsbee's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Bigsbee is looking to cinch up a triangle. Silva Minh throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Bigsbee's body to avoid the submission. Bigsbee has instead reached around Silva Minh's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Bigsbee arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

During a confident post fight interview, Ned Bigsbee thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
