Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donald Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Peter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Donald Richards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Peter!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peter shoots in looking for a takedown. Richards tries to sprawl out of it but Peter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Richards manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
As Peter looks to move away, Richards throws a big counter combo but Peter just gets out of the way.
Richards defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Peter.
Richards wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Peter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Donald Richards has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Peter.
Peter misses with the combination.
Richards is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Peter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Richards napping and manages to drive through into side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Peter is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Richards is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Richards's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Richards is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Richards is working hard here to advance position.
Peter scores with punches from side control.

Peter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Richards knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Richards could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Peter just content to control the position.

Peter working the body and head with strikes.

Peter swings around for an armbar but Richards sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Peter's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Richards throwing strikes but missing.
Richards throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Peter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Peter can do anything to dispel that myth.
Richards in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Peter wants to stand but Richards is controlling the position.

Richards throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Peter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Peter throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Richards being controlled here momentarily.

Richards avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Richards postures up and lands a big shot to Peter's brow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Peter dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Peter shoots in looking for a takedown but Richards manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Peter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Peter drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Peter wants to stand but Richards has his arm trapped.

Peter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Richards tries to improve position but can't.
Richards might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peter is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Richards has escaped the position, nice work there.
Richards is trying to control Peter's posture but Peter avoids it.

Peter controls the position.

Peter tries to move into full mount but can't pass Richards's legs.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Richards tries to bench press Peter off him but Peter keeps the position.
Richards tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Peter presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Peter content just to control the position here.
Peter's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Richards is trying to escape the mount but Peter keeps good control and instead manages to take Richards's back.

Peter is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Richards has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Peter has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Richards has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Peter is working for a rear naked choke. Richards is not defending it well and Peter has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Richards refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Richards's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Daniel Peter!
