The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Paul misses.

Paul scores with a takedown into Guy's guard.
Paul postures up in Guy's guard and throws a big left but Guy blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Guy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Paul accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Paul distracts Guy with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Paul slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Guy wants to improve his position but instead Paul has moved into half guard.
Paul is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Paul connects with a nice short shot to Guy's temple.
Paul is trying to control the action in half guard but Guy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Paul lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Guy wants to control but Paul is keeping busy.

Paul working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Guy looks like he's trying to stand up.

It looks like John Paul has been cut.

Paul in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Guy looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Paul turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
