Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob Shimmy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rod Stiffington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shimmy comes to the cage accompanied by God Save The Queen. Stiffington has chosen Boogie Nights as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stiffington takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Shimmy throws a hook to the side of Stiffington's head but Stiffington sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A decent looking cross lands there for Shimmy.
Shimmy rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Stiffington counters with a shoot takedown. Shimmy fights it but they end up in guard.
Stiffington stays in close to Shimmy's body and controls the position.
Stiffington stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shimmy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Shimmy looking for a sweep. Not yet Shimmy, not yet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stiffington seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Shimmy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Stiffington's coach down at Harambe Remembrance Hall was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Stiffington's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Shimmy throws a looping overhand right but Stiffington ducks down to avoid it.
Shimmy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stiffington was well out of range. Poor timing from Shimmy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stiffington not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Let's hope that Stiffington has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Shimmy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Stiffington stands and throws Shimmy's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Shimmy is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Stiffington's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shimmy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
