Mihattovic comes to the cage accompanied by Geto Boys - Still. Monroe has chosen Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe throws a right and a left that Mihattovic avoids nicely.
Mihattovic bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A looping hook to the body misses from Monroe. Mihattovic does a little dance to reset his feet.

Mihattovic lands a big head kick that sends Monroe tumbling to the mat! Mihattovic takes a step backwards and waves Monroe back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Monroe lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Mihattovic shoots in looking for a takedown. Monroe tries to sprawl out of it but Mihattovic keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Monroe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

A frustrated look appears on Monroe's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Monroe is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mihattovic asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Mihattovic is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Monroe has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mihattovic is putting a hurting on Monroe here, landing some big shots from side control.

Mihattovic swings around for an armbar but Monroe sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mihattovic's guard.

Monroe fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mihattovic on the side of the head.
Monroe thuds a left hand into Mihattovic's body.
Monroe lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Monroe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mihattovic.

Oooh a lovely combination from Monroe sends Mihattovic down but not out. Monroe dives into side control looking to finish.

Mihattovic is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Monroe decides to stand back up.
Oh Mihattovic is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mihattovic walks straight into a right hand from Monroe - that's dropped him! Monroe jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Mihattovic from any more punishment! Mihattovic complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
