Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Leblanc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Peter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Peter is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ted Leblanc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Peter!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leblanc lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Peter misses with a takedown attempt
and Leblanc counters with a left to the body.
Daniel Peter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peter takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Leblanc works Peter's body with a nice hook.
Nice takedown defense from Leblanc. No joy for Peter on that attempt.
Peter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Peter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Leblanc swivels and escapes.
Ted Leblanc has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Peter.
Peter ducks right into an uppercut from Leblanc.

Peter moves into range and clinches up with Leblanc.

Leblanc escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Peter has his takedown stuffed

and Leblanc counters by moving into the clinch.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Peter throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Leblanc tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Peter is in Leblanc's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Peter is stalling in the full guard.
Peter wants to stand but Leblanc has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Peter is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Leblanc has a closed guard, preventing Peter from standing up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Peter is stalling in the full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Leblanc avoids the head kick by Peter.
Peter gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Leblanc counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Peter gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Leblanc.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Leblanc tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Peter paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Peter fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Leblanc sprawls well initially but Peter persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Leblanc pushes Peter off and gets back to his feet.
Peter looks winded!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Peter.
Peter doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Leblanc to counter with a crisp jab.
Leblanc tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Peter defends well and Leblanc ends up having to push Peter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Peter ducks right into an uppercut from Leblanc.
Leblanc could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Peter closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Peter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Peter wants it to stay on the feet.
Peter is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Peter is trying hard to land a takedown here. Leblanc sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Peter shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Leblanc sprawls well. Leblanc wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Peter gets slowly back to his feet.
Peter takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Leblanc fails with the takedown.

Peter drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Leblanc is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ted Leblanc dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Leblanc wants to clinch but Peter slips to the side

and Peter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Leblanc's guard.
Leblanc is looking to stand back up but Peter counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Leblanc.


Leblanc with the active half guard here but Peter passes nicely into side control.
Peter connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Leblanc some visible discomfort.
Peter advances to mount.
Peter content just to control the position here.
Peter avoids the attempt from Leblanc to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Leblanc regains half guard.
Peter drops an elbow to the side of Leblanc's head.

Peter maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Leblanc could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Peter has cracked it and Leblanc is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Peter!
