Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Reynolds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Pontoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Reynolds!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tom Pontoon!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reynolds looks for the body kick but Pontoon saw that one coming.
Pontoon slaps away a takedown attempt from Reynolds, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pontoon wants to counter with a clinch but Reynolds pushes him away.
Pontoon avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pontoon scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Reynolds throws a body shot but no joy.
A chopping leg kick lands by Pontoon.
Reynolds misses with a wild combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reynolds instigates a clinch.

Reynolds escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Reynolds swats away the attempt to clinch by Pontoon.
Reynolds tries to counter by clinching up but Pontoon breaks away and moves out of range.

Reynolds stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Pontoon.

Reynolds moves into the clinch.

A bit of stalling here from Reynolds.
Reynolds blocking some punches.
Pontoon has a couple of punches blocked by Reynolds.
Pontoon misses with a hook to the ribs.
Pontoon misses with a punch to the body.
Reynolds blocks an uppercut.
Pontoon tries to work over Reynolds's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Reynolds has a closed guard, preventing Pontoon from standing up.

Reynolds seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Nice takedown defense from Pontoon. No joy for Reynolds on that attempt.

so Reynolds counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pontoon is wriggling around but Reynolds manages to pass to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reynolds content to control rather than advance.
Pontoon is looking to escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pontoon wants to clinch.
Tom Pontoon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Reynolds shoots in and bounces Pontoon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Pontoon wants to get back to his feet but Reynolds is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Reynolds stays in close to Pontoon's body and controls the position.
Reynolds trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Pontoon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Reynolds might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pontoon is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Reynolds sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Pontoon is looking to stand up but Reynolds isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sam Reynolds dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pontoon lands a head shot.
Sam Reynolds is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Reynolds walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
No luck for Reynolds with that takedown attempt.
Pontoon swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Reynolds half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Reynolds rushes Pontoon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Pontoon misses with a hook to the ribs.

Reynolds breaks from the clinch.
Pontoon motions for Reynolds to come forward. Pontoon throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Pontoon cracks Reynolds with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Tom Pontoon seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Pontoon stuffs the takedown.
Pontoon is looking to slow Reynolds down with leg kicks.
A nice inside leg kick there by Pontoon. That's going to slow Reynolds down.

Reynolds is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pontoon's half guard.
Pontoon wants to get back to his feet.
Pontoon tries to kick Reynolds off in order to stand up. Reynolds Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Pontoon pushes Reynolds away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Reynolds gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Pontoon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reynolds. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Reynolds decides to stand back up. Reynolds steps back and let's Pontoon get back to his feet.
Pontoon tests Reynolds's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Reynolds dives in for a single leg takedown but Pontoon sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Pontoon wants to counter with a clinch but Reynolds pushes him away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Reynolds. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pontoon throws a leg kick

and Reynolds moves into the clinch.

Reynolds successfully pulls guard.
Pontoon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Reynolds tries to strike from the bottom.

Pontoon wants to stand but Reynolds is controlling his posture from full guard.
Reynolds pulls Pontoon in to control the position.
Reynolds is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pontoon can do to turn this around?
Pontoon wants to stand but Reynolds has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Reynolds darts in looking for a takedown but Pontoon gets double underhooks and turns Reynolds into the cage.

Good standup being displayed there by Pontoon as he connects with a hook.
Pontoon tried to score with a low kick but Reynolds checks it.
Pontoon just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromReynolds.
Reynolds is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Pontoon has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Pontoon tries to clinch up but Reynolds circles away and keeps his distance.
Pontoon scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Pontoon bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Reynolds's head.
Pontoon has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Pontoon stuns Reynolds with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Reynolds checks a leg kick.
Reynolds takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Reynolds takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Tom Pontoon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Reynolds throws a series of punches but Pontoon avoids them all with ease.

Pontoon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pontoon wants to stand but Reynolds is controlling the position.
Pontoon is wriggling around but Reynolds manages to pass to half guard.

Reynolds is looking for a kimura here.
Pontoon is trying to stand up here but Reynolds is controlling him well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pontoon can do anything to dispel that myth.
Reynolds is taking a breather. Pontoon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tom Pontoon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Reynolds shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Pontoon scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Reynolds manages to mount him!
Pontoon wants to try and get back to his feet.
Reynolds takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Pontoon squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pontoon wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Reynolds has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! Pontoon taps furiously! This one is all over!
