And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Punch Rockgroin!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsumoto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rockgroin is fending him off so far but Matsumoto persists. Nope, Rockgroin circles away and we're back to standing.

Matsumoto feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Matsumoto stays in close to Rockgroin's body and controls the position.
Rockgroin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Matsumoto is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Matsumoto shoots in for a takedown but Rockgroin shows good takedown defense.
Rockgroin throws a right hand that Matsumoto ducks under and follows up with a left that Matsumoto also avoids with ease.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rockgroin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Matsumoto slips a jab and a cross from Rockgroin.

Matsumoto avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Matsumoto fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Matsumoto misses with a takedown attempt - Rockgroin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Matsumoto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rockgroin tries to avoid it but Matsumoto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rockgroin to the ground. Rockgroin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kiyah Matsumoto will probably get the nod.
