Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lee Welch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cage Stone!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Stone looking to score a takedown here. Welch is defending well but Stone drives through and ends up in Welch's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Stone changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Welch fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Stone throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Welch was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Welch enables Stone to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Welch manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Welch could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Welch tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Stone counters with a nice body shot.
Cage Stone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Welch tries to throw a body punch but Stone avoids it by throwing Welch back against the cage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stone can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cage Stone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Welch goes for a double leg but Stone avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stone continues to drive forward.

Cage Stone is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Cage Stone comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Stone has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
