Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ace McCoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Holt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Holt has chosen All Along the Watchtower - Bear McCreary as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holt scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
McCoy is looking to escape.
Holt trying to control from half guard but McCoy is working away.
Holt is sneakily working for an arm triangle but McCoy sees it coming and defends easily.
McCoy is refusing to be controlled, as Holt sits in half guard.
McCoy tries to get to full guard but Holt has control of the leg.
Holt looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Holt is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
McCoy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Holt on the ground.
Holt is looking to take a break and control but McCoy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCoy is not content to let Holt control the position.
Holt is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McCoy is just riding it out for now. Holt eventually gives up the hold.

McCoy is defending against the submission attempts here by Holt.

McCoy controls Holt momentarily but Holt frees himself.
Holt stands up over McCoy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Holt stands and throws McCoy's legs to the side, diving into side control.
McCoy throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

McCoy tries to clinch up but Holt circles away and keeps his distance.
McCoy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Holt swats him away and circles back towards the center.

McCoy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Holt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Holt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McCoy swivels and escapes.
McCoy shoots in and bounces Holt off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
McCoy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McCoy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Holt is looking for a triangle but McCoy pushes his legs off easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Ace McCoy will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
McCoy wants to clinch up but Holt keeps it at a distance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holt slows the pace down.
Holt throws a strike aimed at the side of McCoy's head but McCoy avoids it well.
McCoy is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Holt asserts his dominance and retains side control.

McCoy is looking to reverse the position.

McCoy stops Holt from passing to mount.
Holt tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Holt has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Holt tries to move to mount but McCoy blocks the move with his legs.

Holt wants to free his trapped foot but McCoy is holding on for dear life with his legs.
McCoy is looking for a sweep. Holt is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
McCoy looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and McCoy counters with a good low kick that Holt was not able to check.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Holt shoots in looking for a takedown. McCoy tries to sprawl out of it but Holt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McCoy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McCoy tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Holt just stands there and leans against the cage.

Holt has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but McCoy regains guard immediately.

Holt drops back looking for a leg! McCoy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McCoy manages to kick Holt off! Holt jumps back into McCoy's guard.

Holt is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, McCoy has managed to free his arm - good work.
Holt seems to be working for a kimura but McCoy defends the submission attempt.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Holt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McCoy tries to avoid it but Holt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McCoy to the ground. McCoy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

McCoy throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Holt blocks it with crossed arms.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Holt is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

McCoy is looking to work some ground and pound but Holt has wrist control.
