Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jandre Vorster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and BJ Arnold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, BJ Arnold!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vorster rushes Arnold and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Vorster changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Arnold fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Arnold counters with an inside leg kick.
Arnold shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

and Arnold counters with a good low kick that Vorster was not able to check.
Vorster is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Arnold has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vorster can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've been hearing good reports from Vorster's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vorster tries to clinch there but Arnold circles away.
Arnold replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Vorster blocks it well.

Vorster dives in and grabs Arnold's left leg, looking for a takedown. Arnold pushes down on Vorster's head and hops out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

BJ Arnold dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It seemed like Arnold was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Jandre Vorster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arnold fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vorster.

Vorster drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Arnold tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Vorster has hold of Arnold's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Arnold tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Vorster cranks the arm and Arnold screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Arnold, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jandre Vorster!
