The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wick throws a sloppy head kick
and Wick takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Basayev lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Basayev avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wick fails in his attempt to clinch.

Wick takes the fight into the clinch.
Basayev looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Wick tries for a takedown but Basayev manages to get underhooks.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Basayev.

Basayev breaks from the clinch.
Wick looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Basayev scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Wick doesn't seem bothered though.
Wick is breathing heavily.

Basayev feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Wick sprawling to the canvas! Wick rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Basayev finish him?!

Wick is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Basayev lands a leg kick that knocks Wick off balance momentarily.
Oh Wick is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Basayev weaves into range and cracks Wick right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Wick goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Basayev is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
