Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Brendan Conlon!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Phil Schofield and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conlon slips a jab and a cross from Pettis.
Pettis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Pettis rushes Conlon and presses him up against the ropes.
Pettis scores with a shoulder strike.
Conlon has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Conlon is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Conlon wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pettis has him pressed against the ropes.
Pettis blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Pettis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Conlon's efforts to push away.
Conlon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pettis just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Conlon tries to pull guard but Pettis won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Conlon's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
A nice right hand lands inside from Pettis.
Conlon wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Conlon tries to pull guard but Pettis forces him back to his feet, against the ropes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brendan Conlon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pettis lands with a right to the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Pettis.

Conlon jumps guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pettis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Conlon is proving hard to escape from.
Pettis must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Conlon has Pettis pulled in close to control his posture.

Conlon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Conlon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pettis defends well.

Conlon looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Pettis is defending well. Conlon quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Pettis has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Conlon celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
