Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Addison Lacasse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julius Guida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Addison Lacasse has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Addison Lacasse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julius Guida!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lacasse shoots for a double leg takedown but Guida sprawls well. He's pushed Lacasse's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Guida circles away from the clinch attempt.

Guida rushes Lacasse and presses him up against the cage.
Guida tries for a takedown. No joy.
Lacasse trying to land knees to the body.
Guida jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lacasse walks away with a smile on his face. Guida gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lacasse will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Guida decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Guida stops Lacasse from getting back to his feet.
Guida takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lacasse wants to improve his position but Guida is controlling well.
Lacasse has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Guida is working away from the top position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Lacasse forces Guida back against the cage and clinches.
Lacasse has Guida pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Guida manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Addison Lacasse. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Guida has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lacasse is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Guida has Lacasse pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lacasse manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Guida turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Guida manages to end up in side control.

Lacasse kicks off Guida and gets to his feet.

Guida fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lacasse sprawls well initially but Guida persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lacasse wants to get back to his feet.
Lacasse wants to control but Guida is keeping busy.

Guida is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lacasse sees it coming and defends easily.

Guida is trying to work for a kimura but Lacasse is defending well.
Guida is thwarting Lacasse's attempts to control the position.

Guida seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lacasse tries to clinch but fails miserably

so Guida counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

You can see the frustration on Lacasse's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Guida goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lacasse has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Guida but great work by Lacasse.
The strikes coming from Lacasse are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Lacasse is trying to get an arm triangle but Guida is defending well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Guida is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guida struggling a bit here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lacasse.
Lacasse moves in looking to clinch but Guida pushes him off.
Lacasse is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Guida gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Guida escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lacasse gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Guida trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Lacasse has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Guida is proving hard to escape from.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lacasse wanted to stand there but Guida had control of the position.
Guida controlling Lacasse's posture.
Lacasse has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Guida is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Julius Guida showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Lacasse wants to clinch.
Lacasse shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Guida has taken the fight to the clinch.
Guida lands a hook that snaps the head of Lacasse backwards.
Guida is trying to break free.
Lacasse stops a takedown attempt from Guida.
With the fighters up against the cage, Lacasse throws an elbow but misses.
Guida tries for a takedown. No joy.
Guida has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lacasse avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Addison Lacasse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julius Guida.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Guida on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Julius Guida is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lacasse can't do much from the bottom here.
Lacasse is looking to regain half guard here but Guida keeps moving and retains side control.
Addison Lacasse has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I've got Guida winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
