Flash escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vera II gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Flash uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vera II.

Flash feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vera II turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Flash throws a hook but Vera II blocks it.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Flash shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Flash throws a strike but Vera II rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Vera II wants to get up but he can't break Flash's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Flash is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Vera II's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Vera II's back!

Flash lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Flash is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Vera II up.

Flash is looking for a choke. Vera II gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Vera II manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Flash had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Vera II is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Flash Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Vera II's back instead.
