Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Crane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xabilonso Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenny Crane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Xabilonso Alonso!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Darius Henderson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Crane. Those never looked like landing.
Crane looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alonso is fending him off so far but Crane persists. Nope, Alonso circles away and we're back to standing.
Alonso misses with a leg kick.
Xabilonso Alonso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alonso finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Crane needs to keep his hands up - Alonso had a free shot at his head there.
Crane fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Alonso avoids it really well and circles away.
Alonso tries a low kick but Crane avoids it.
Crane is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crane closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Crane content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Crane prevents Alonso from escaping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Crane stands up and beckons Alonso to his feet.
Crane throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Crane on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Alonso lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Crane will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Crane takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Nice straight punches there by Alonso. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Alonso.
Alonso is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Crane fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Crane. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Crane shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alonso defends it nicely.
Alonso connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alonso fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Crane has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Crane closes the distance and clinches up with Alonso, looking for a takedown. Crane pushes Alonso against the cage but Alonso circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Crane avoids a punch combination nicely.
Crane shoots in and drives through. Alonso sprawls well.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Crane is defended easily by Alonso.
Alonso is looking for the big counter here.
Crane on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Alonso. Alonso obviously looking to wear him down.
Alonso cracks the inside of Crane's front leg.
Xabilonso Alonso is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Alonso fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Crane on the side of the head.
Alonso lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Crane tries to clinch up.
Crane stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Alonso.
Alonso misses with a double jab

and Crane counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Crane not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Crane is taking a breather. Alonso says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Crane is trying to control the action in half guard but Alonso is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Crane could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Xabilonso Alonso dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Alonso throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Crane stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Good leg kick by Alonso there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Alonso jabs Crane right on the nose. Crane blinks but takes it well.
Crane throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alonso's waist but Alonso gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Crane off to one side.
Xabilonso Alonso seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Alonso chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Crane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alonso tries to avoid it but Crane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alonso to the ground. Alonso escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alonso takes a swing at Crane's ribcage but misses.
Crane is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
An inside leg kick lands from Alonso.
Crane keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Crane seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crane takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


Crane is rocked!
Crane shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alonso as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Crane. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A combination from Alonso does no damage.
It looked like Crane was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Crane looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Alonso has one foot on Crane's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Alonso bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Crane's head.
Alonso displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Crane.
Kenny Crane is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Alonso slaps away a takedown attempt from Crane, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Crane has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Alonso.
Alonso has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Alonso lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Crane goes down and covers up as Alonso starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Xabilonso Alonso!
