PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ante Pavelic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Zimbardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zimbardo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pavelic comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Pavelic misses the shot to the body.
Good leg kick by Pavelic there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Zimbardo explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Zimbardo lands a nice looking kick to the body. Pavelic takes a step back to recover.
Pavelic tries a head kick but it misses.
Zimbardo is looking to slow Pavelic down with leg kicks.
Zimbardo ducks under a wild hook from Pavelic.
Zimbardo misses the jab.
Pavelic tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Zimbardo manages to circle out of the way.
Zimbardo jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Zimbardo takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Pavelic dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Zimbardo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Pavelic moves into range and clinches up with Zimbardo.
Zimbardo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pavelic has him pressed against the cage.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Pavelic lands a nice shot to the body.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Pavelic creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Pavelic connects with a nasty looking knee right to Zimbardo's face.
Zimbardo trying to control the position but instead, Pavelic has worked for underhooks and has pushed Zimbardo into the cage.

Pavelic definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Zimbardo has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Pavelic seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Zimbardo can turn it around.

Pavelic drops Zimbardo with a big knee straight up the middle! Zimbardo is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Pavelic lands a big knee to the head and Zimbardo goes down! Pavelic pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
