Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brian Fipps!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Akulakhan Ur!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ur is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Fipps.
Ur connects with a looping right hand.
Fipps misses the body punch
and Ur cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ur has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Fipps misses with a leg kick.
Ur swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Fipps definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Fipps tried to score with a low kick but Ur checks it.
Fipps misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ur moves away from the strike by Fipps.
Fipps falls off balance throwing a combination
and Ur counters with a three punch combo that has Fipps backing up. Fipps nods at Ur to acknowledge the strikes.

and Ur counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The crowd cheers as Ur lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fipps doesn't seem phased though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ur steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Fipps.
Ur has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Ur feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Fippss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Nice straight punches there by Ur. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ur.

Fipps throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ur tries to clinch up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fipps. Ur does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ur avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Fipps throws a hook to the side of Ur's head but Ur sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fipps finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

and Ur counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ur might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Donk. Ur catches Fipps right on the button with a cross.
Ur is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Fipps had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Brian Fipps seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ur clobbers Fipps with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
No joy there for Ur, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Fipps misses with a hook. Ur ducked under it nicely.

and Ur counters with a nice uppercut.

Fipps swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ur scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Fipps avoids the body shot from Ur.
Fipps throws out a leg kick but Ur moves out of range and Fipps only half commits.
Ur looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Ur staggers Fipps with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Fipps looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!

Fipps loads up on a big right hand but Ur slips the punch.
Ur lands a really nice looking cross but Fipps seems unphased.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fipps throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Ur has a couple of punches blocked by Fipps.
Fipps scores with a shot to the side of Ur's head.
A short body shot lands from Fipps as the two fighters clinch.

Fipps lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ur backwards.
Fipps is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Ur's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fipps pushes Ur back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Fipps tries to throw a body punch but Ur avoids it by throwing Fipps back against the cage.

Having scored a knockdown, Akulakhan Ur should take round 1, putting pressure on his opponene back strong in round 2.

Fipps breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Ur with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Ur looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Ur get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? No, he's flopped back to the mat - he's out - this one is all over!

Brian Fipps got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
