Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takeshi Saitou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Meguru Takayanagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saitou kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is XENO. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Meguru Takayanagi!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takayanagi has managed to clinch.

Takayanagi ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Takayanagi no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Saitou sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Takayanagi's guard.

Takayanagi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Takayanagi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Saitou will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Saitou is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Takayanagi presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Takayanagi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Saitou uses from the top position.
Saitou stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takayanagi swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Saitou takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Takayanagi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Saitou to score an easy takedown into full guard.

After the fight, Meguru Takayanagi was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
