Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eric Rowler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daisuke Suzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eric Rowler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daisuke Suzuki!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rowler shoots in but no luck this time.

Suzuki might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rowler kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Rowler avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Rowler scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Suzuki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rowler gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rowler sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Suzuki's guard.
Rowler thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Suzuki's head.

Rowler is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Suzuki trying to control but Rowler postures up.
Suzuki wants to get back to full guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rowler connects with a nice short shot to Suzuki's temple.

Rowler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Suzuki with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Rowler is looking for a kimura here.
Suzuki tries to get to full guard but Rowler has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Suzuki has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rowler is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Rowler thows a huge punch but Suzuki dodges it nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Suzuki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rowler moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Rowler looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Rowler is working Suzuki over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Suzuki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rowler gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rowler lands a couple of elbows.

Suzuki looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Suzuki looks gassed!
Rowler thows a big elbow that misses.
Rowler chips away with some ground and pound.
Rowler keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Suzuki's head.

Rowler throwing strikes from guard but Suzuki blocks nicely.
Suzuki is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Suzuki pulls Rowler in close to his closed guard and prevents Rowler from doing any damage or advancing position.

Eric Rowler dominated that round.
That's time! Rowler's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Suzuki is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rowler.
Rowler looks for a takedown but Suzuki sprawls well.
Rowler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Suzuki as he avoids it easily.
Suzuki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rowler throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Suzuki sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rowler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Suzuki but Suzuki pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Rowler. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Suzuki throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rowler.
Suzuki lands with a nice combination. Rowler backs away looking to recover.


It looks like Eric Rowler has been cut.
Suzuki moves forwards but Rowler connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Eric Rowler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suzuki connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Rowler momentarily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Horrible takedown by Suzuki or perhaps it was just good defense by Rowler which made him look bad.
Suzuki works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Rowler distracts Suzuki with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Rowler throws a strike but Suzuki rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Suzuki passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Suzuki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rowler keeps working.

Suzuki wants to take a breather but Rowler is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Suzuki gets caught flat footed, as Rowler shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Suzuki looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Suzuki has his foot on Rowler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rowler works his way back into a safe position though.
Rowler makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Suzuki lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rowler!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Suzuki working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Suzuki tries to control but Rowler wriggling away.
Rowler flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rowler is trying to escape the mount but Suzuki keeps good control and instead manages to take Rowler's back.

Daisuke Suzuki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Eric Rowler's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Rowler shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Rowler wants to control but Suzuki is keeping him busy.

Rowler is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Rowler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rowler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rowler accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Suzuki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Suzuki walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Suzuki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rowler looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Suzuki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rowler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
