PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Begbie Franco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Camacho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franco comes into the arena with Born Slippy blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 42 - 25 - 1, fighting out of London, Begbie Franco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Miguel Camacho!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco throws a push kick but Camacho slaps the foot to one side.
Camacho fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Franco.
Camacho finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Franco on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Franco takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Camacho throws out a leg kick but Franco moves out of range and Camacho only half commits.
Camacho throws an overhand right that lands on Franco's shoulder, as Franco tries to avoid the shot.
Camacho connects with an inside leg kick.
Franco tries to close the distance and clinch up but Camacho swats him away and circles back towards the center.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jab, jab by Camacho - just one landing.
Miguel Camacho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Camacho staying out of range there.
Franco takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
No joy there for Camacho, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Franco lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Camacho defending well as Franco loads up on a big left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Camacho moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Franco moves into the clinch.
Camacho lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Camacho lands a right hand that snaps the head of Franco backwards.
Franco blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Franco is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Franco scores with an uppercut up the middle.


It looks like Miguel Camacho has been cut.
Franco misses with a hook from the clinch.
Franco scores with a shot to the side of Camacho's head.
Franco is trying to force a seperation but Camacho has the dominant position.
Camacho wants to break the clinch but can't.

Franco manages to break the clinch.
Franco has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Camacho misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Camacho moves out of range of the leg kick from Franco.
Franco showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Camacho.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Camacho throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Franco - that will leave a mark!
Camacho misses the shot to the body.
Franco tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Camacho manages to circle out of the way.
Franco throws a series of punches but Camacho moves out of range.
Camacho throws a head kick but Franco moves out of range.
Camacho rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Franco moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Franco fires out a quick counter leg kick but Camacho just manages to avoid it.
Franco slips under a jab from Camacho.
Franco swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Camacho clobbers Franco with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Franco fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Camacho.
Franco tries to land a leg kick but Camacho saw it coming and moves away.
Camacho feints a counter leg kick.
Camacho throws out a powerful jab.
Camacho circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Franco drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Camacho follows Franco to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miguel Camacho!
Our winner, Miguel Camacho, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
