Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elvis Herring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Whirpool Wave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elvis Herring has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elvis Herring!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Whirpool Wave!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wave stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wave wants it to stay on the feet.
Wave takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Wave leaves Herring with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wave throws a counter combo.
Herring closes the distance and clinches up with Wave, looking for a takedown. Herring pushes Wave against the cage but Wave circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elvis Herring. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Herring shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wave's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wave has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Herring regains guard immediately.
Wave is looking to stand up but Herring won't let him.
Herring really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Wave is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Wave tightens his grip and picks Herring up, before dumping him to the ground. Herring manages to land in guard.
Herring wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Wave manages to pass to side control.
