Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Delbert Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Trace Williams!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams tries to clinch up.
Grant stuffs the takedown.
Grant could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Williams shoots for a takedown but Grant saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Williams looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Grant is fending him off so far but Williams persists. Nope, Grant circles away and we're back to standing.

Grant shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Williams pinned against the cage. Williams gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Trace Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Grant is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Williams can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Grant's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Williams is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Grant is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Williams is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Williams is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grant wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working.

Grant pushes off an throws an elbow but Williams leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

No joy there for Williams, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Williams goes for a double leg but Grant avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Grant continues to drive forward.

Williams will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Grant swats away the attempt to clinch by Williams.

Williams keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Williams shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Grant sprawls well. Grant wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Williams gets slowly back to his feet.

Williams goes for a double leg but Grant avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Grant continues to drive forward.

Williams throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Grant's waist but Grant gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Williams off to one side.

Williams looks to land a combination but Grant avoids it well.
Grant uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Williams.

Williams throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Grant's waist but Grant gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Williams off to one side.

Williams gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Grant to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Grant might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Grant tries to score a power double leg takedown but Williams sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Grant somewhat.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Williams with a flurry of punches that miss.
Grant is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grant. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Grant thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Williams's head.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Grant, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
