Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Abel Zero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Who!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zero throws a hook to the side of Who's head but Who sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Zero swings for the body but Who moves out of range.
Who tries to clinch up but Zero circles away and keeps his distance.
Who blocks a head kick by Zero.
Zero is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A punch combination from Who misses.
Nice takedown defense from Zero. No joy for Who on that attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Who looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Who shoots in but no luck this time.
Abel Zero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Who.

Who bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Who is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zero is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Zero parries the strikes from Who easily there. Who is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Zero to escape.
Zero holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Who trying to control the action but Zero is working from the bottom.
Who passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Zero!
Who avoids the attempt from Zero to control.
Zero knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Who on the ground.
Zero tries to buck Who off but he can't manage it.

Zero in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Zero is wriggling around trying to escape.

Who looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Zero wants to try and get back to his feet.
Who can't control as he wanted to and Zero manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
Who looks gassed!
Who has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Zero prevents Who from taking his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zero is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Zero is squirming around, avoiding Who's attempts to control the action.
Zero tries to reverse the position but Who maintains control.
Who tries to control but Zero wriggling away.
Zero wants to control but Who is having none of it.
Zero is trying to escape the mount.
Who won't let Zero get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Zero is looking to get to half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Zero's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Zero tries to hold on but Who pushes him away.
Who pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Zero keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Zero is trying to escape the mount but Who keeps good control and instead manages to take Zero's back.
Zero looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Zero fending off the submission attempt from Who.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Zero defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Who's arms.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jay Who dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Zero swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Zero moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Abel Zero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Nice straight punches there by Zero. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Zero.
Zero throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Who is breathing heavily.
Who walks into a stiff left hand from Zero.
Zero lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Who on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Zero. Zero obviously looking to wear him down.

Zero pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Who walks into a jab.
Zero throws a nice looking combination but Who bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Zero connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Who takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Who tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Zero counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Zero.

Zero breaks from the clinch.
Who takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Who is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Zero.
Zero works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Who takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Zero with a hook.
Zero misses with a jab, cross combination.
Zero pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Zero fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Who on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Zero. Zero obviously looking to wear him down.
Who slips a jab and a cross from Zero.
Who checks a low kick from Zero.
Abel Zero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch combination from Zero misses.

Zero has closed the distance and engaged Who in a clinch.

Zero breaks the clinch.
Who wants to clinch but Zero slips to the side
and Zero counters with a slapping leg kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Zero throws a right hand that Who ducks under and follows up with a left that Who also avoids with ease.
Who has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zero throws a push kick but Who slaps the foot to one side.
Who defending well as Zero loads up on a big left hand.
Zero looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Who fails to land the takedown.
Who keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Who blocks a head kick by Zero.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Who closes the distance looking to clinch
and Zero counters with a stiff right hand.

enabling Zero to counter with a crisp jab.
Abel Zero is winning the standup battle so far.
Who on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Zero. Zero obviously looking to wear him down.
Who takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Who bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Zero works over Who's head and body with a nice combination.
No joy there for Zero, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Zero smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Zero misses with the combination.

Zero lands with a thumping leg kick.
Who takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Zero moves into the clinch.
Who tries to pull guard but Zero won't allow it.
Abel Zero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Who.
Who is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Zero is keeping busy.

Zero breaks the clinch.
Who takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Nice uppercut there from Zero.
Who takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A left lands for Zero.
Who gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Zero counters with a nice leg kick.

Who takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Who is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Zero.


Who is rocked!
Zero lands with a nice body punch.
Who is still on wobbly legs! Can Zero finish him?

Who drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Who seems to have recovered his senses.

Who goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Zero has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Who but great work by Zero.

Zero stands up and beckons Who to his feet.
Zero throws a head kick but Who moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Who shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Who was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Who wants to control the pace but Zero is squirming around nicely.
Zero wants to control but Who is having none of it.
Who lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent. Zero tries to hold on but Who postures up.
Zero is squirming around, avoiding Who's attempts to control the action.
A nice elbow there by Who.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Who tries to control but Zero wriggling away.

Who moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Zero has worked his arm free - good work by Zero!

And that's the end of the fight!
Abel Zero showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Zero has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
