Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ismail Nabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Hardy will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ismail Nabe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Hardy!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nabe tries to bum rush Hardy with a series of wild strikes but Hardy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Hardy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hardy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hardy controlling the position easily from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nabe's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Hardy is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Hardy misses with a combination

so Nabe counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hardy managing to control the position.
Nabe would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Nabe is fighting to break Hardy's control of his arms but Hardy is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Nabe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hardy is pulling down on Nabe's head. It's preventing any offense from Nabe, at least for the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hardy wants to sweep but no luck.
Hardy pulls Nabe in close to prevent any damage.

Nabe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Hardy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hardy is adopting a defensive guard.
Hardy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Nabe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Despite being in the dominant position, Scott Hardy just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nabe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nabe lands with an uppercut that bounces Hardy off the cage and back into rage.


It looks like Scott Hardy has been cut.
Hardy fails to land the takedown.

Hardy gets a takedown into half guard.

Nabe tries to get to full guard but Hardy has control of the leg.
Hardy perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Nabe pushes Hardy off looking to stand but Hardy dives back in and keeps control.
Still in half guard, Hardy seems content to control.
Hardy passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Nabe!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hardy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nabe misses with a double jab

and Hardy counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Scott Hardy has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hardy keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Hardy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nabe is just riding it out for now. Hardy eventually gives up the hold.

Still in half guard, Hardy seems content to control.
Hardy has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Hardy sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Despite being in the dominant position, Scott Hardy just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hardy throws a leg kick which misses Nabe's front leg but catches the back leg as Nabe tries to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Nabe gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hardy decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Nabe, up you get!
Hardy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Nabe counters with a slapping leg kick.

Hardy drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hardy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Let's hope that Hardy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Hardy gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hardy bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Hardy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Hardy keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Nabe could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Hardy missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Hardy is nestled in close to Nabe, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Hardy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Hardy rushes Nabe and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Nabe trying to stall but Hardy improves his position.
Nabe tries for a takedown. No joy.

Hardy manages to pull guard.
Hardy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Hardy has his foot on Nabe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nabe works his way back into a safe position though.
Hardy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Nabe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hardy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Hardy gets to his feet - Nabe follows without any prompting.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Nabe gets caught flat footed, as Hardy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hardy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Nabe keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Hardy moves nicely into side control.

Hardy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Nabe to his feet.
Hardy doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Nabe counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Hardy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hardy lands in his opponent's guard.
Scott Hardy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
