Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Coleman Mooney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rucutan Edwards !
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mooney shoots in and gets a takedown into Edwards 's guard.
Edwards trying to keep a closed guard but Mooney is proving a slippery customer.
Mooney could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mooney is looking to work some ground and pound but Edwards has wrist control.

Mooney drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mooney jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Mooney throws an elbow that misses. Edwards uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mooney's guard. Nice move by Edwards !

Mooney looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Edwards accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Mooney keeping moving, preventing Edwards from controlling successfully.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mooney holds on and takes a little breather.

Edwards tries to free his leg and advance position but Mooney is retaining full guard.
Edwards looking to sit in guard and control but Mooney gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Edwards is not content to let Mooney control the position.

Mooney is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Edwards defends it well.
Mooney takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Mooney lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Mooney wants to work for an arm triangle but Edwards is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Mooney thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Edwards 's head.

Edwards looking for a guillotine here but Mooney defends easily.

Mooney postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Mooney throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mooney is striking but Edwards is not phased and passes to half guard.
Edwards working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That was a close second round but I would say that Coleman Mooney will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Edwards can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mooney has gone for a leg lock! Edwards slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mooney's guard.

Mooney lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Edwards is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Edwards takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Edwards seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Edwards is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mooney is trying to control but Edwards manages to pass to mount!
Mooney tries to lock up and control but Edwards gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Edwards avoids the attempt from Mooney to control.
Mooney is wriggling around trying to escape.
Edwards blocks Mooney's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Edwards jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mooney is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mooney and Edwards has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Mooney wants to control but Edwards postures up.
Mooney is letting Edwards control him for a moment.
Mooney can't do much from the bottom here.

Edwards working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Mooney is looking to reverse the position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mooney is holding Edwards down, trying to stall.

I would just about give that final round to Rucutan Edwards .
Well Mooney has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
