The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kruger shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Man as he avoids it easily.

Kruger gets caught flat footed, as Man shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Man knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kruger on the ground.

Kruger looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Man trying to control the position from guard on top but Kruger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kruger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Man gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Man wants to get up but he can't break Kruger's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kruger is on top in guard.
Kruger passes Man's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Man makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Man.

Kruger sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Man's guard.
Man is looking to improve his position.
Man might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kruger connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Man some visible discomfort.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kruger is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Man's shoulder. That is not cool.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Man wants to get back to full guard but Kruger has mounted him!
Man is squirming around, avoiding Kruger's attempts to control the action.

Man wants to control from the top but Kruger keeps moving.
Man is really struggling to control Kruger but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Man postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Man moves into the clinch.
Cool Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Kruger.

Kruger flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Kruger is trying to maintain the position but Man is very close to passing his half guard.
Kruger is pressing down on Man's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Kruger had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Man is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kruger Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Man's back instead.

Kruger tightening his grip on Man, looking for the choke.

Kruger is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Man has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Kruger has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Man taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Kruger doesn't care though - he's delighted!
