Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ludo Abidonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Gonon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terry Gonon told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Terry Gonon!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Abidonov, pushing him back against the cage.
Abidonov creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Gonon changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Abidonov fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Gonon has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Abidonov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gonon pinned against the cage. Gonon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Abidonov moves into the clinch successfully.

Gonon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gonon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Gonon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've been hearing good reports from Abidonov's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Gonon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Abidonov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gonon has control of Abidonov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Abidonov regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Abidonov is fighting off a takedown attempt but Gonon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Abidonov to the mat. Abidonov regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Abidonov throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Gonon escapes and throws Abidonov's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Gonon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Abidonov has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gonon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
