Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murray looks to clinch

and England counters with a nice double leg into side control. Murray won't be happy with that.

England working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Murray tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

England wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Murray, who protects the arm well.

England is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Murray has escaped the position, nice work there.
England has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Murray is looking to reverse the position.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

England is staying tight to Murray's torso, preventing him from escaping.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Murray can do anything to dispel that myth.

England stands up and beckons Murray to his feet.
England blocks a head kick by Murray.

Murray feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

England pushes Murray off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Jamal Murray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Murray closes the distance and pushes England back into the cage.
England avoids a wild elbow strike from Murray.
England tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
England has Murray pressed against the cage, preventing Murray from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
England jumps guard but Murray stands there with England around his waist. England gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Murray has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but England regains guard immediately.

England is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Murray presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

England pushes Murray off and gets back to his feet.
Murray wants to clinch up but England keeps it at a distance.
England seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Murray closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Murray shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Murray stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows England to get to his feet.
Murray tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Murray doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Murray clinches up against the cage.
England jumps guard but Murray turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenton England. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Murray gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, England regains guard.

Murray has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics England uses from the top position.

England wants to improve his position but Murray is controlling well.
Murray wants to take a breather but England is having none of it.
Murray throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing England to regain full guard.
Murray is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
England is looking to stand up but Murray isn't so interested in that idea.
England keeping moving, preventing Murray from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

England had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Murray defends it easily.

Kenton England overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

England is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Murray is controlling him.
