Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hank Aaron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shane Ripgut!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripgut pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Aaron gets tackled into the ropes by Ripgut. Ripgut maintains the clinch.
Aaron has had enough of the clinch but Ripgut keeps him there for the moment.

Ripgut escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A slapping leg kick lands for Aaron.
Aaron ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ripgut misses with a wild body shot.
Aaron tries to land a leg kick but Ripgut saw it coming and moves away.
Aaron tries to close the distance and clinch but Ripgut swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aaron is looking to land body kicks.
Aaron throws a good cross that connects.
Aaron attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Aaron shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Ripgut changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Aaron takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Aaron tries to keep at a distance but Ripgut has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ripgut pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ripgut throws a hook to the side of Aaron's head but Aaron sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Ripgut misses with a shot to the body
letting Aaron counter with a right hand.
Aaron throws a sloppy head kick and Ripgut moves out of range easily.
A lazy body kick from Ripgut
and Aaron connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aaron throws a head kick but Ripgut moves out of range.
Aaron is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Ripgut tries to close the distance and clinch but Aaron swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aaron throws a low kick, looking for Ripgut's leg but Ripgut calmly moves out of range.
Ripgut fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Aaron looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Ripgut will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ripgut uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Aaron.
Ripgut throws a head kick but Aaron moves out of range.
Ripgut has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Aaron.
Aaron takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Ripgut is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Aaron rather than just go for the knockout.
Aaron is breathing heavily.
Ripgut throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ripgut has closed the distance and engaged Aaron in a clinch.

Ripgut breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Aaron looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ripgut tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ripgut misses with a double jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ripgut scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Aaron to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.


It looks like Hank Aaron has been cut.

Ripgut cracks Aaron with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Aaron is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Aaron is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!

Ripgut catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! Aaron stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? Aaron walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on!


Aaron is rocked!
Shane Ripgut seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Aaron is looking to clinch.
Ripgut circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Aaron tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Ripgut wins by KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Shane Ripgut!
Shane Ripgut decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
