Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shuhei Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shuhei Nakamura will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura throws a sloppy head kick and Thomas moves out of range easily.
Nakamura fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thomas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thomas tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Nakamura defends well and Thomas ends up having to push Nakamura into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Thomas tries to pull guard but Nakamura holds him up against the cage and eventually Thomas drops back down to his feet.

Nakamura shoots in looking for a takedown but Thomas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nakamura's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Nakamura shoots in looking for a takedown. Thomas tries to sprawl out of it but Nakamura keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thomas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nakamura looks winded!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nakamura fails with the takedown
and Thomas holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Thomas is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Nakamura can't fight it off and eventually Thomas manages to take the fight to the floor. Nakamura looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Thomas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Thomas has gone for a leg lock! Nakamura slips out almost immediately though and dives into Thomas's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Thomas pushes Nakamura off and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Thomas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nakamura steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Thomas. That one must have hurt.
Thomas tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Nakamura is able to avoid easily.
Nakamura shoots in for a takedown but Thomas shows good takedown defense.
Nakamura doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Thomas counters with a series of strikes. Nakamura will be more careful next time no doubt.

Thomas manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Thomas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nakamura can do to turn this around?
Nakamura got a little sloppy there for a moment and Thomas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nakamura has managed to get both his arms back between Thomas's legs - danger averted.
Nakamura really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Thomas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Thomas has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Thomas is on top in guard.
Nakamura is breathing heavily.
Thomas drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Thomas as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Nakamura screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Thomas! Nice submission victory there!
