PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jola Kaalipaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Misterioso Damballah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kaalipaa kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Darude / Sandstorm. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damballah misses with a double jab.
Damballah moves out of range as Kaalipaa strikes.

Kaalipaa has been working on his balance at CT + BJJ & Wrestling sparring gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Damballah.

Kaalipaa gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Damballah is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Damballah is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Damballah wants to stand and escape but Kaalipaa is having none of it.

Damballah throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Kaalipaa colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Damballah as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Kaalipaa is left battered and dazed whilst Damballah and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). El Misterioso Damballah!
El Misterioso Damballah spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
