Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pikku mies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antony McNally (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pikku mies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antony McNally!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
mies avoids a punch combination nicely.
mies takes a shot to the body in his stride.

mies scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
mies content to control rather than advance.
McNally tries to get to full guard but mies has control of the leg.
McNally trying to get back to full guard but mies takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
mies controlling from mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
mies unloading with bombs!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McNally keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
mies tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
McNally tries to hold on but mies postures up.
mies wants to control the pace but McNally is squirming around nicely.
McNally working to try and regain half guard.

mies controlling from mount.
mies's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Pikku mies just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
mies wants to clinch.
mies moves in looking to clinch but McNally pushes him off.
McNally throws a hook but mies avoids it easily.
McNally darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
McNally changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. mies tries to avoid it but McNally manages to keep hold of a leg and drag mies to the ground. mies escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pikku mies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

mies gets the takedown into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
mies working the body and head with strikes.
mies cracks McNally with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Sloppy strikes there by mies.
The referee asks mies politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. mies prefers to stall for the moment though.
mies trying to control the position but McNally is working away.

mies working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
mies wants to take a breather but McNally manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for mies.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pikku mies dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


mies misses with a combination

and McNally counters with a single leg into guard. mies didn't expect that.
mies is adopting a defensive guard.
mies looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but McNally puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
mies makes his way to full guard. A much better position for mies.
mies trying to control the position here.

mies throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
mies manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

mies is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Horrible takedown by McNally or perhaps it was just good defense by mies which made him look bad.
McNally is breathing heavily.

McNally darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
mies is concentrating on defense, preventing McNally from advancing position.
mies gets back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
mies seems keen to control McNally's posture.
mies is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
McNally must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
mies bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McNally's guard.
mies controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Pikku mies just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
mies tries to clinch up
letting McNally counter with a right hand.
mies misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pikku mies is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

mies bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
McNally is not content to let mies control the position.

McNally tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pikku mies will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


A slapping body kick lands there for McNally.

McNally clinches up with mies and pushes him back against the cage.
mies creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through McNally's defenses.

McNally gets control of mies's arms and successfully pulls guard. McNally will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

mies stands up and waves to McNally to follow him.
mies gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and McNally counters with a three punch combo that has mies backing up. mies nods at McNally to acknowledge the strikes.
McNally shoots in and drives through. mies sprawls well.
mies shoots in but no luck this time.
mies doesn't succeed with the takedown
and McNally counters with a nice low kick that buckles mies's knee momentarily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pikku mies. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
McNally misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McNally misses with a double jab.
mies wants to clinch but McNally slips to the side
enabling McNally to counter with a crisp jab.
Some wild striking there from mies.

That's one minute gone in the round.
mies throws a hook but McNally blocks it.
mies tries to clinch
and McNally counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
mies tries to clinch up
and McNally connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

mies shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
mies not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
mies stopping the sweep attempt from McNally.

mies looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

mies wants to pass the guard but McNally is keeping the position.
mies is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

mies avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
mies trying to control but McNally is working from the bottom.
Pikku mies is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McNally circles away from the clinch attempt
and McNally counters with an inside leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Antony McNally.
I think mies has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
