Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rodrigo Mills!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


It looks like Rodrigo Mills has been cut.
Jones cracks Mills with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Jones has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Jones fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Jones throws out a loose jab but Mills uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mills was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Jones gets tackled into the cage by Mills. Mills maintains the clinch.

Mills's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mills could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Mills clinches up against the cage.
Mills displaying some good clinch control by pressing Jones up against the cage.

Mills breaks from the clinch.
Mills slips a straight right by Jones.
Jones bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mills's head backwards.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mills has Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Jones throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Millss head.
Mills keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.
Jones lands with a short shot to the head.
Jones's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Mills manages to break the clinch.
Jones throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Mills counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Jones!

Mills looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Mills moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mills sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Jones is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mills is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Jones tries to control but Mills manages to take his back.

Mills is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Jones won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Mills off his unconscious opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rodrigo Mills!
