PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Quinton Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Brock Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Lesnar defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Slater.

Lesnar closes the distance and clinches.
Slater could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Lesnar manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Lesnar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Slater throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Lesnar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lesnar keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Slater wants to get back to full guard.
Lesnar working over Slater with some ground and pound. Slater looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lesnar wants to stand but Slater has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Lesnar is trying to work for a kimura but Slater is defending well.
Slater tries to kick Lesnar off but Lesnar keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Slater is looking to clinch but Lesnar is avoiding it.

Lesnar moves into range and clinches up with Slater.

Lesnar gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Slater regains guard.

Slater working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lesnar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lesnar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Slater bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lesnar's guard.

Lesnar keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Slater's head.
Lesnar connects with a couple of short punches.
Lesnar seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lesnar tries to stand but Slater is controlling from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Lesnar dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lesnar misses the jab.
Slater looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Slater avoids a kick to the body.

Lesnar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lesnar controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Slater looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Slater is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lesnar slows the pace down in half guard.
Slater wants to get back to full guard but Lesnar has passed into side control.
Lesnar tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Lesnar is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Slater will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Lesnar has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lesnar stands up and beckons Slater to his feet.

Lesnar feints and as Slater raises his hands in defense, Lesnar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Slater is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Lesnar dives into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slater tries to buck Lesnar off but Lesnar is having none of it.
Slater is being controlled here.
Lesnar lands some shots froms side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lesnar is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Lesnar wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Slater, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Lesnar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Lesnar throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Slater was covering up waiting for the punch and Lesnar finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Slater wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Lesnar manages to pass to side control.

Lesnar seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Lesnar. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Lesnar lands a big elbow - Slater is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Lesnar!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brock Lesnar!
During a confident post fight interview, Brock Lesnar thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
