The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hugo.
Hugo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hugo.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Rua as Hugo tries to tie him up.
Hugo prevents Rua from breaking the clinch.
Hugo is trying to break the clinch but Rua has him pressed against the cage.
Rua goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hugo prevents it.
Hugo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rua pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A head kick lands from Hugo that sends Rua to the canvas. Rua tries to scramble back to his feet but Hugo brings him back down into side control.
It looks like Marcos Rua has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hugo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rua keeps working.

Hugo wants to take a breather but Rua manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Hugo.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hugo tries to free his leg and advance position but Rua is retaining full guard.
Hugo wants to control from the top but Rua keeps moving.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Rua fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A combination from Rua does no damage.
Rua is looking to clinch.
Hugo darts in and clinches Rua up against the cage.
Hugo tries to pull guard but Rua holds him up against the cage and eventually Hugo drops back down to his feet.
Hugo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rua walks away with a smile on his face. Hugo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Marcos Rua has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Hugo.
Rua looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hugo is fending him off so far but Rua persists. Nope, Hugo circles away and we're back to standing.
Marcos Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rua is breathing heavily.
Rua misses with a series of wild punches.
Rua stuffs the takedown.
Hugo shoots in but no luck this time.

Rua swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Hugo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rua as he avoids it easily.
Hugo wants to clinch up but Rua keeps it at a distance.
Rua closes the distance but Hugo moves to the side
and Hugo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rua's guard.

Hugo wants to work for an arm triangle but Rua is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Hugo stands up from Rua's guard - Hugo perhaps looking for a knockout.
Hugo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Hugo would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Rua is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hugo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hugo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hugo holds on and takes a little breather.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rua trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Hugo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rua manages to get himself to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hugo gets to his feet - Rua follows without any prompting.
Hugo closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Hugo needs to keep his hands up - Rua had a free shot at his head there.
Nice defenses there by Hugo.
Rua stuffs the takedown attempt from Hugo. Hugo gets slowly back to his feet.
Rua lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rua.

Hugo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Marcos Rua is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hugo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rua swivels and escapes.

Rua lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Rua falls off balance throwing a combination
so Hugo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Victor Hugo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hugo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
