PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Lobo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kool Keith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lobo comes to the ring accompanied by Medasin - Daydream (feat. Joba). Kool Keith will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Antonio Lobo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kool Keith!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Lobo. That's going to slow Keith down.
Keith catches Lobo with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Keith checks a low kick from Lobo.
Some bone on bone action there as Keith checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Lobo takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Keith throws an overhand right that lands on Lobo's shoulder, as Lobo tries to avoid the shot.
A chopping leg kick lands by Lobo.

Lobo throws a solid leg kick but Keith takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lobo.
Lobo throws a low kick but Keith avoids it.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lobo enables Keith to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lobo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Lobo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lobo has his foot on Keith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Keith works his way back into a safe position though.

Keith avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Lobo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Keith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Keith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Keith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lobo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Keith wants to pass to mount but Lobo is defending the position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Keith is in close to Lobo's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Keith wants to control from the top but Lobo keeps moving.

Lobo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Keith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lobo is on top in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lobo seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Lobo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Keith is aware though and is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Keith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lobo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Keith has managed to get both his arms back between Lobo's legs - danger averted.
Keith wants to control from the top but Lobo keeps moving.
Keith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Keith tries to pass the half guard into mount. Lobo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Keith connects with a nice short shot to Lobo's temple.

Keith takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Kool Keith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Lobo fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Keith is out of range.

Keith wants to take a breather but Lobo is having none of it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Keith is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lobo!
Lobo tries to hold on but Keith postures up.
Keith lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Keith avoids the attempt from Lobo to control.
Lobo is trying to escape the mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kool Keith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Keith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
