The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rugowski pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Barcelona clinches.
Barcelona misses with a punch to the body.

Rugowski manages to break the clinch.
Barcelona slips a jab and a cross from Rugowski.
Barcelona is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Barcelona drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rugowski wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Barcelona drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rugowski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Barcelona has Rugowski in his guard.

Rugowski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Barcelona tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Barcelona has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rugowski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rugowski's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Rugowski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Rugowski would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
