Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Qwis Rey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hendo Janari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rey comes into the arena with It's Raining Men blaring out of the sound system. Janari has chosen Airbourne - Let's Ride as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hendo Janari!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Janari misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rey throws a left that rocks Janari and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Rey dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Janari regain composure!

Rey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rey's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rey is on top in guard.

Rey takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Janari is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Janari is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Janari lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rey backs up against the cage.
Janari throws a good cross that connects.


It looks like Qwis Rey has been cut.
Janari works over Rey's head and body with a nice combination.
Hendo Janari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rey swats away the attempt to clinch by Janari.
Janari misses with a few strikes there.
Janari misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rey tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Janari swivels and escapes.
No joy there for Janari, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rey misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Qwis Rey. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Janari moves into range and clinches up with Rey.

Janari escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rey clinches but Janari breaks the clinch

and Janari counters by clinching up.
Janari wants to get back to striking at distance but Rey won't allow it.
Rey is working for takedown but Janari is calmly controlling the position for now.

Janari throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rey tries for a takedown but Janari circles away easily
and Janari counters with a series of strikes. Rey will be more careful next time no doubt.
Rey looks for a takedown but Janari sprawls well.

Janari drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Janari stands up.
Rey swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Janari will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Janari fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Janari falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rey counters with a nice body shot.
Janari fails with the takedown

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rey moves into full mount!
Janari is looking to improve his position but Rey isn't that keen on the idea.

Rey is working for a guillotine from mount but Janari frees his head quite easily.
Janari is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Rey lands a big shot there that rocks Janari but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Janari can't escape the position.
Rey lands a big elbow.

Janari turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Rey off and cradles Janari's limp body as Rey celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Qwis Rey!
