Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, James Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Smith!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith moves forwards but Taylor connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Smith closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Taylor's guard.

Taylor wriggles free and stands up.
Taylor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Taylor throws a series of punches but Smith moves out of range.
Taylor misses with a two punch combination.
Smith replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Taylor blocks it well.
Taylor throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Some wild striking there from Taylor.
A countering left hand to the body from Smith misses.
Taylor could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Taylor changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
No joy there for Taylor, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smith shoots in and drives through. Taylor sprawls well.
Taylor lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Taylor.

Smith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Taylor's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith throws a big elbow that misses.
Taylor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Smith trying to control but Taylor is working from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Smith won't allow Taylor to sweep him here.

Smith wants to pass the guard but Taylor is keeping the position.

Smith pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Taylor is keeping the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Smith is pushing down on Taylor's leg trying to pass to half guard. Taylor is fighting to maintain full guard but Smith has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith is pressing down on Taylor's thigh, looking to free his foot. Taylor is holding on for now.

Smith is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Taylor is just riding it out for now. Smith eventually gives up the hold.
Smith is trying to control. Taylor wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Taylor with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Smith has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Taylor defend it? Smith steps over the head and cranks it - Taylor is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Smith!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jack Smith!
After winning the bout, Jack Smith thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
