PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gsj Ayhz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eren Kaban (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ayhz takes a swing at Kaban's ribcage but misses.
Ayhz darts in looking for a takedown but Kaban gets double underhooks and turns Ayhz into the cage.

Ayhz moves into the clinch successfully.

Ayhz successfully pulls guard.
Kaban stopping the sweep attempt from Ayhz.
Kaban tries to stand but Ayhz is controlling from the bottom.
Ayhz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kaban is one step ahead there.

Kaban looking to sit in guard and control but Ayhz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kaban escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ayhz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kaban utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Ayhz has gone for a leg lock! Kaban slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ayhz's guard.

Kaban trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Ayhz trying to keep a closed guard but Kaban is proving a slippery customer.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kaban prevents Ayhz from getting back to his feet.

Ayhz wants to control the position but Kaban says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kaban frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kaban throws a sloppy strike and Ayhz uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Ayhz has ended up in Kaban's guard.
Ayhz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kaban is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ayhz defends well.
Ayhz throws an elbow that misses. Kaban uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ayhz's guard. Nice move by Kaban!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ayhz holds on and takes a little breather.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ayhz doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Ayhz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ayhz is on top in guard.

Ayhz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kaban is trying to control the position but Ayhz postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Sloppy strikes from Ayhz. Those never looked like landing.

Ayhz throws a sloppy head kick and Kaban moves out of range easily.

and Kaban counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Kaban tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ayhz defends well and Kaban ends up having to push Ayhz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Gsj Ayhz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eren Kaban.
Kaban shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ayhz as he avoids it easily.

Kaban shoots for a double leg takedown but Ayhz sprawls well. He's pushed Kaban's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ayhz closes the distance and clinches up with Kaban, looking for a takedown. Ayhz pushes Kaban against the cage but Kaban circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ayhz.
Kaban dives in and grabs Ayhz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ayhz pushes down on Kaban's head and hops out.
Ayhz fails to land the takedown.
A nice side step and Kaban releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Kaban is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ayhz pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Kaban tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ayhz smiles and moves away.

Kaban looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ayhz is fending him off so far but Kaban persists. Nope, Ayhz circles away and we're back to standing.

Kaban is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ayhz shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck for Kaban with that takedown attempt.
Ayhz swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Kaban misses with a takedown attempt - Ayhz sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kaban fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kaban tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ayhz swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gsj Ayhz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gsj Ayhz will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Kaban shoots in for a takedown but Ayhz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kaban.

Ayhz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Kaban is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Ayhz changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kaban fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Ayhz misses with a few strikes there.
Ayhz swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Kaban sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Gsj Ayhz is winning the standup battle so far.
Kaban takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Ayhz forces Kaban back against the cage and clinches.
Ayhz is trying to drag Kaban to the mat but Kaban just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ayhz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kaban gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gsj Ayhz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kaban wants to get back to striking at distance but Ayhz won't allow it.

Kaban jumps guard but Ayhz turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
A bit of stalling here from Kaban.
Kaban wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kaban is trying to push Ayhz away but Ayhz has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Kaban pushes Ayhz back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Ayhz is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kaban pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Ayhz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ayhz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Kaban drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kaban jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ayhz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ayhz wants to get back to his feet but Kaban is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ayhz has his hands on Kaban's head, controlling the position.
Kaban wants to control from the top but Ayhz keeps moving.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kaban avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ayhz stuffs the takedown attempt from Kaban. Kaban gets slowly back to his feet.
Ayhz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Ayhz closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kaban quickly recovers to half guard.
Kaban pushes Ayhz off but Ayhz dives into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ayhz lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kaban down.
Eren Kaban has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kaban explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gsj Ayhz.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ayhz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
