Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gerry Mcconnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aabid Al Azim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Azim moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Aabid Al Azim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mcconnell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Al Azim throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Some wild striking there from Al Azim.
Al Azim throws a nice looking combination but Mcconnell bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mcconnell fails with the takedown.
Mcconnell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Al Azim, pushing him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mcconnell tries to pull guard but Al Azim holds him up against the cage and eventually Mcconnell drops back down to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Al Azim gets to his feet - Mcconnell follows without any prompting.
Al Azim misses with a series of wild punches.

Al Azim throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Al Azim scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Mcconnell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mcconnell has a takedown stuffed.

Al Azim rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mcconnell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mcconnell slips a jab and a cross from Al Azim.
Al Azim throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mcconnell feinted with a counter takedown.
Al Azim misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mcconnell is looking to counter the offense by Al Azim and move into the clinch.
Mcconnell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Aabid Al Azim is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Al Azim rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mcconnell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mcconnell takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Al Azim misses with a few strikes there.
It appears Mcconnell was looking to counter with a kick there.
Al Azim uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mcconnell.
Al Azim misses with a two punch combination.
Mcconnell goes for a double leg but Al Azim avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Al Azim continues to drive forward.
Mcconnell walks into a stiff left hand from Al Azim.
Al Azim connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mcconnell. Mcconnell circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Al Azim lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mcconnell circles away quickly and effectively.
Al Azim throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mcconnell counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Al Azim looks winded!
Mcconnell jumps guard but Al Azim turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Al Azim has had enough of the clinch but Mcconnell keeps him there for the moment.

Mcconnell tries to score a body lock takedown but Al Azim shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Mcconnell has Al Azim pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Al Azim manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Mcconnell is looking to take this one to the mat.
Al Azim escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Al Azim!
Al Azim throws a one two combo.
Mcconnell is rocked!
Both fighters circle each other, looking for something big. Al Azim moves in and throws an overhand right. That hurt Mcconnell! Al Azim continues to tee off on Mcconnell, landing with a left and a right! Al Azim connects with a right hand that leaves Mcconnell sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Al Azim!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Aabid Al Azim!
