Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Hojackin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Chaves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Hojackin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Julio Chaves!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chaves scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Julio Chaves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chaves steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hojackin.
Chaves throws a hook but Hojackin avoids it easily.
Chaves looks to land a combination but Hojackin avoids it well.

Chaves lands with an uppercut that bounces Hojackin off the cage and back into range.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chaves can do anything to dispel that myth.

Chaves tries to kick Hojackin off in order to stand up. Hojackin Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Hojackin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Chaves takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Chaves really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hojackin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Chaves is looking to get back to his feet here but Hojackin is keeping cool and he's managed to take Chaves's back.

Hojackin is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hojackin is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Hojackin gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Hojackin gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Hojackin apologises and we restart here on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hojackin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hojackin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Chaves has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Hojackin rattles Chaves with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Chaves tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Hojackin dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Chaves stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). David Hojackin!
